A powerful audio/video receiver from Onkyo. Its strengths clearly lie in its stereo performance. The impressive 2 x 80-watt output ensures a powerful and clean sound, although it is possible to connect 5 speakers for a surround sound setup (ProLogic). The 5 power amplifiers and the integrated DOLBY PRO LOGIC decoder provide an impressive surround sound experience with suitable sources.
In home cinema mode, the two front outputs and one centre output deliver 55 watts of effective power each, whilst the two outputs for the rear speakers deliver 20 watts of effective power each. Sound is reproduced across a frequency range of 20 to 20,000 Hz with a distortion factor of less than 0.08%.
As for the radio section, it receives FM and AM, and up to 40 stations can be stored. The Onkyo SV9041 can be connected to turntables, CD players, two recorders and three video components; furthermore, the two sockets on the rear panel allow direct power supply to the connected components.
