The AMP 3300 was a single-ended Class A integrated amplifier manufactured by CEC in the early 2000s. This model formed the technical basis for the subsequent AMP 3300R, from which it differed only in terms of aesthetic details. Designed for the most demanding audiophiles, it combined the musicality and purity of Class A with a high-efficiency circuit capable of overcoming the limitations of traditional amplifiers.
At the heart of the design was the exclusive LEF (Load Effect Free) circuit, developed by CEC to eliminate distortion linked to the speaker load. In this circuit, the current control stage operated independently of the signal voltage, ensuring stable, uncoloured reproduction with excellent driving capability. The AMP 3300 also incorporated automatic bias adjustment to ensure a consistent and reliable response even during the most complex dynamic variations.
The entire signal processing circuit was fully balanced, starting with the conversion of the unbalanced input in the first stage. The left and right channels were managed on two separate planes, thereby achieving maximum separation and a clear, realistic stereo image.
Among the most sophisticated technical solutions was the IGM – Intelligent Gain Management system, which adjusted the volume by acting directly on the amplifier’s gain, avoiding the use of mechanical resistors or digital devices. This preserved the integrity of the signal and minimised noise and distortion.
An intelligent protection system was also included: in the event of prolonged clipping, the volume level was automatically reduced, whilst in the event of overheating, the unit would switch itself off, restarting once optimal thermal conditions were restored.
A collector’s item, refurbished and in excellent cosmetic condition.
