"I have been passionate about vintage stereo equipment since childhood. At the age of 12, unaware of the risks and driven by the innocence of a beginner, I used to tinker with my grandparents’ tube radios, connect speakers to my father’s radio cassette player, and spend hours dismantling old broken televisions. It was during that time that I learned how to repair the very faults I caused in these early experiments of mine. My path was set.
This passion led me to earn a technical diploma, thanks to which I began my career as an electrical panel technician. For 15 years, I worked in the sustainable energy sector, specializing in the automation of hydroelectric power plants.
In my free time, I bought every kind of vintage stereo system to give it a new life; those old high-fidelity systems became my true school. By repairing reel-to-reel tape recorders and turntables, I learned to understand both their mechanics and electronics. Meanwhile, my university studies allowed me to improve my English and German skills: a fundamental step in confidently navigating the web and gaining a deeper understanding of the history, but above all the technology, of Hi-Fi equipment.
The year 2010 marked a turning point for me: I decided to turn my passion into a profession and founded OLDSTORE. I like to think that this business is a continuation of my previous work: from clean energy to restoring stereo systems destined for disposal, a green philosophy has continued to guide my activity."
