The Ortofon MCA-76 has been specifically designed for use with moving-coil cartridges.
The amplifier circuit has been engineered to deliver an absolute minimum of output noise, just 5dB above the theoretical noise floor. Distortion levels are kept to a minimum, and a built-in subsonic filter attenuates sound below 13Hz, as these signals below the audible range can damage the speakers.
A switchable filter is used to adjust the frequency response in CD-4 mode to two or four channels; the switch allows the MCA-76’s amplification section to be bypassed when using moving magnet cartridges.
The unit is fully functional and in excellent cosmetic condition.
