Onkyo K W502 – cassette recorder

Onkyo’s dual-cassette deck offers convenient duplication and uninterrupted music. Excellent
performance is not a one-off feature for this deck. The Onkyo K W502 is a high-quality dual-cassette recording deck. It allows you to make a copy for yourself and one for a friend at the same time. Or to keep recording or playing tape after tape with its dual auto-reverse (to capture and enjoy even the longest recordings).
Robust 2 x 2 motorised transport system. The capstan and drive motors are separate for each deck, not only to prevent fatigue but to provide the precise tape movement required for accurate playback. They also contribute to the long-lasting, trouble-free performance that has made Onkyo cassette recorders famous.
Extended headroom with Dolby HX Pro. Dolby HX Pro extends the dynamic headroom to capture the wider musical dynamics of your CDs or other digital sources. It provides significantly cleaner reproduction of those crucial higher frequencies by improving the tape’s ability to capture high-level signals without clipping. Another benefit is that tapes recorded with Dolby HX Pro can be played back on decks without Dolby HX Pro, for improved audio performance. Track
search. When playing a tape, Onkyo’s track search system does exactly what you’d expect: it automatically allows you to skip forwards or backwards to easily find the exact start of each track. It works by detecting the musical gaps between tracks. One-touch
synchronised CD recording. This handy feature allows you to effortlessly and accurately record your favourite CDs when your deck is connected to any Onkyo CD player compatible with the RI (‘Remote Interactive’) system (see rear connector). Indeed, as you might expect, the K W502 is fully compatible with Onkyo’s RI (Remote Interactive) system. This means you can also control virtually all the main functions of the cassette recorders using other ONKYO remote controls.
Other features
• Automatic tape selector: automatically sets bias and equalisation for the type of tape inserted.
• Automatic spacing: useful for inserting gaps when re-recording or editing tapes, or when recording from CD, vinyl or the radio.
• Headphone jack: for private listening.
• Full repeat: repeats both sides A and B of both decks up to eight times, then switches off automatically.
• 8-segment fluorescent peak meter: allows you to precisely adjust recording levels for optimal performance
