Panasonic / Technics RS TR355 - cassette deck

This deck is identical to the Technics model of the same name. In fact, Panasonic was none other than the parent company of the Japanese brand.

This RS-TR355 is a dual-cassette stereo recorder featuring Dolby B/C and HX-Pro noise reduction. Its main features include: 2 heads, a 3-digit digital tape counter, tape type selection (compatible with standard, chrome and metal tapes), and dual auto-reverse.

A typical front-loading double cassette deck with the cassette compartment positioned on both sides of the deck. Tape ejection is mechanically operated and the cassette must be positioned with the side to be played facing forwards in the cassette compartment.

The level meters used on the RS-TR355 are generic digital peak meters. The full-logic transport controls used on the RS-TR355 respond to the slightest touch of the fingers for quick and effortless selection of transport functions.

The Dolby C type used in the RS-TR355 provides 20 dB of noise reduction above approximately 1,000 Hz, effectively doubling the amount provided by the B type. The Dolby HX PRO system provides precise bias control during recording to reduce distortion and improve linearity in the high-frequency range, resulting in a recorded sound that is highly faithful to the original.A jack socket for a pair of stereo

headphones is provided for undisturbed listening. Connection to other audio components for playback can be made via an RCA cable, and recording from a source via an RCA cable.
