The Pioneer CT-F2121 is a stereo cassette recorder first released in 1975. It features a typical front-loading deck with the cassette compartment located on the left-hand side of the recorder. Tape ejection is mechanically operated and the cassette must be inserted with the side to be played facing forwards in the cassette compartment.
It features Dolby B noise reduction, which reduces the hiss of recorded tapes by up to 10 dB at higher frequencies.
The main features of the Pioneer CT-F2121 are: belt drive, 2 heads, 3-digit mechanical tape counter, manual tape type selection; it is also capable of handling standard, chrome and ferro-chrome tapes with manual equalisation selection.
The level meters used on the CT-F2121 are analogue needle-type VU meters with mechanical controls, ensuring reliable selection of the transport function.
For live recording, this deck features 2 inputs for connecting microphones via a jack connector. For undisturbed listening, a jack connector is provided for a pair of stereo headphones. Connection to other audio components for playback or recording can be achieved via an RCA cable.
