Philips VR 400, vintage video recorder. Year 2000. 4 video heads. Comes with a copy of the user manual in Italian and a remote control.

Description

The Philips VR400 is a 4-head VHS video recorder that combines high-quality build with ease of use. Designed with Turbo Drive technology, it ensures fast and reliable operation, capable of rewinding an E-180 cassette in around 100 seconds.

Video quality is ensured by the Digital Studio Picture Control system with digital noise reduction and Laser-Cut video heads, which guarantee sharp and stable images in both Standard Play and Long Play modes. The unit is also compatible with the NTSC standard, in addition to PAL and SECAM systems, making it versatile for playing international recordings.

The deck offers numerous advanced functions: perfect still, variable-speed playback, automatic search for gaps on the tape and index search. Every time a cassette is inserted, the heads are automatically cleaned, thus ensuring consistent performance over time.

From a technical perspective, the VR400 is equipped with a full tuner (VHF, UHF, Hyperband) with memory for up to 99 channels and VPS/PDC support for precise scheduled recordings. On the rear, it features two SCART sockets (EXT1 CVBS in/out and EXT2 with RGB loop/decoder), as well as an antenna input and output.

For those who may not be aware: with video recorders, it is still possible to record from any source; simply connect, for example, the DVB-T2 digital terrestrial tuner to the SCART input (even via a SCART-to-composite adapter) and select the external source before starting the recording.

Dimensions: 380 x 260 x 93 mm

Refurbished unit in excellent cosmetic condition.
